PILI NUT PIE

Pili nut pie
2 tbsp. all purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/4 cup melted margarine
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup milk, diluted
1 cup pili nuts, broken
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract

Combine all purpose flour, 
         sugar and salt.
Mix in corn syrup; add melted
         margarine and beaten eggs.
Blend well.
Add milk, pili nuts and vanilla.
Mix thoroughly.
Four into an 8 inch pastry lined pie plate.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350
    degrees for 30-40 minutes.
Cool before serving.

      CRUST
1 cup all purpose flour
1/3 cup shortening
3-4 tbsp. water

Sift flour into a mixing bowl.
Add shortening and cut with a pastry blender or two dull knives until particles are pea size.
Toss in water little by little to moisten flour.
Gather dough together and form into a ball.
Roll out to a floured board.
Fit pastry into pie pan.
Flute edges.
