OLD CHINATOWN BURGER

       1 lb. pork sausage
       6 1/2 oz. water chestnuts, drained and chopped
       1 egg
       2 tbsp. dry sherry
       2 tbsp. soy sauce
       1/4 tsp. ginger
       1 cup enriched soft bread crumbs
       1/3 cup green onions, finely chopped

       1/3 cup green pepper, finely chopped
       1 small clove garlic, crushed
       6 hamburger buns
           large enriched sesame seed
          butter (softened as needed)
      sweet and sour sauce
      Combine first-10 ingredients; mix well, for ease 
              of handling, chill for several hours.
      Shape into patties and grill till done.
      Split toast and butter buns.
      Divide bean sprouts on bun bottoms and top with patty.
      Spoon equal amount of sour sauce over meat.
      Close sandwich with bun top.
