TINOLANG MANOK WITH SAYOTE AND SILI LEAVES

             3 tbsp. cooking oil
             3 cloves crushed garlic
             1 thumb-sized ginger, cut in strips
             1 medium onion. sliced
             1 chicken, about 1 kilo, cut into serving pieces
             8-10 cups rice washing or water
             2 pieces medium sayote, pared and sliced
             1 bundle sili leaves
      Heat oil and saute garlic, ginger, and onion.
      Add chicken pieces and seasonings.
      Cover and cook 5 minutes.
      Add rice washing or water, bring to boil and allow

 to simmer until chicken is tender.
      Add sayote and cook until tender.
      Add sili laves and cook 5 more minutes.
